What is the procedure of a wrinkle injection?
In contrast to surgical procedures, injections to treat wrinkles have become a common method of treatment today. It is performed on an outpatient basis in private practices. How long do the results last?
The results can last up to 24 months for non-crosslinked hyaluron and up to 15 months for crosslinked hyaluron. The duration of the results depends on the age, skin type, sports activity and technique used. This is because with increasing age and other factors, such as stress and sleep deficits, there is a deficiency of the substance, which becomes visible as wrinkles. In order to treat the aging process, more and more people are turning to hyaluronic acid injections.
Why use hyaluron?
Hyaluronic acid is an integral part of our body and a common term in cosmetics to restore firm and young skin. It is a protein molecule in helical form. A distinction is made between crosslinked and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA). From a biochemical point of view, the chains are closely linked in cross-linked HA and unlinked in non-cross-linked HA. A distinction is also made between the two types of injection: non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin. This allows a lot of water to be stored and new collagen to be formed. The water retention results in a padding which is recognizable by a healthy optical appearance. The cross-linked form is injected directly under individual wrinkles to fill them with the respective Dermal Filler. The results are immediately visible and the body breaks down the individual particles very slowly. Thus an immediate and long-lasting effect is visible.
